Dave Sheridan

Dave Sheridan (born March 10, 1969, in Newark, Delaware) is an American screen actor who has also worked as a producer and writer. Known for broad comedy and character-driven performances, he became a recognizable face in early-2000s studio comedies and genre spoofs.

Sheridan’s breakout role came with Scary Movie (2000), where he played the bumbling Special Officer Doofy Gilmore—a satirical riff on the Scream franchise’s Deputy Dewey. The performance helped cement his reputation for fearless physical comedy and deadpan absurdity.

Beyond spoof comedy, he has appeared in acclaimed and cult-favorite titles including Ghost World (as Doug) and Rob Zombie’s The Devil's Rejects (as Officer Ray Dobson), as well as the behind-the-scenes feature 30 Days in Hell: The Making of 'The Devil's Rejects' as himself. His other notable credits include Frank McKlusky, C.I., Bubble Boy, The Keepers of the 5 Kingdoms, and Protege Moi.
