Donald Glover

Donald Glover (also credited as Donald McKinley Glover Jr. and known musically as Childish Gambino) is an American screen artist born on September 25, 1983, in Stone Mountain, Georgia. After studying at New York University and building momentum with the Derrick Comedy troupe, he broke into mainstream television as a young writer on 30 Rock, a pivotal early step that showcased his sharp comedic voice.

Glover became widely recognized for playing Troy Barnes on NBC’s Community—a role revisited in the Community Table Read. He later expanded into prestige television as the creator and star of FX’s Atlanta, where his work as performer and filmmaker earned major industry honors, including Emmy and Golden Globe wins.

On the big screen, Glover has moved easily between comedy, sci-fi, and franchise storytelling. His credits include Mystery Team, The To Do List, and a brief uncredited appearance in Men in Black: International. He also voiced multiple characters in Robot Chicken: Star Wars Episode III and appeared as himself in specials such as Adele One Night Only and Common Ground.

In animation and superhero worlds, Glover’s presence remains influential—he voices Aaron Davis in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and has been cited as an inspiration behind Miles Morales’ creation. In recent years, he has continued pushing boundaries with new series work, including creating and starring in Mr. & Mrs. Smith.
