Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) reintroduces Peter Parker as a kid from Queens who’s still figuring out who he is when the mask comes off. That tension sharpens when Michael Keaton arrives as the Vulture, a threat that isn’t interested in theatrical world domination so much as exploiting the cracks left behind by bigger battles. The villain’s practicality makes him unnerving, and the film smartly uses that contrast to test what kind of hero Peter wants to be when there’s no easy, headline-friendly choice.

Robert Downey Jr. brings a mentor’s gravity as Tony Stark, but the story never forgets whose growing pains we’re watching. Around Peter, the supporting cast—Marisa Tomei, Zendaya, Jon Favreau, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Donald Glover—helps build a lived-in world where relationships matter as much as suits and gadgets.
