Emily Blunt

Emily Blunt (also credited as Emily Olivia Laura Blunt) is a British screen actor born on 23 February 1983 in Wandsworth, London. Celebrated for her range across drama, comedy, and genre filmmaking, she has earned major industry recognition, including a Golden Globe and multiple Screen Actors Guild Awards, alongside Oscar and BAFTA nominations. In 2020, Forbes listed her among the world’s highest-paid actresses.

Blunt began on stage in The Royal Family (2001) before appearing as Catherine Howard in the miniseries Henry VIII (2003). Her feature debut arrived with My Summer of Love as Tamsin, and she quickly expanded her profile with roles in The Jane Austen Book Club (Prudie), Charlie Wilson’s War (Jane Liddle), Dan in Real Life (Ruthie Draper), Sunshine Cleaning (Norah Lorkowski), and The Wolfman (Gwen Conliffe).

Her breakthrough came in 2006 with the TV film Gideon’s Daughter—which brought her a Golden Globe—and the cultural hit The Devil Wears Prada. She later anchored ambitious projects such as The Adjustment Bureau (Elise Sellas) and continued to earn acclaim for standout performances in films including Sicario, A Quiet Place, and Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer.

Beyond acting, Blunt has supported the American Institute for Stuttering since 2006, helping raise awareness and funds for speech-therapy scholarships, and serving on the organization’s board.
