Glen Powell (also credited as Glen Powell Jr. and Glen Thomas Powell Jr.) is an American screen actor born on October 21, 1988, in Austin, Texas. He built his craft through early TV appearances and small film roles, steadily moving from supporting parts into higher-profile studio projects.
Over the 2010s, Powell became a familiar presence across genres—action, comedy, and drama—appearing in films like The Expendables 3 (as Thorn) and earning wider attention through ensemble work on series such as Scream Queens. He also stood out in Richard Linklater’s Everybody Wants Some!! and took on notable real-life portrayals, including astronaut John Glenn in Hidden Figures and naval aviator Tom Hudner in Devotion.
His mainstream breakthrough arrived with Top Gun: Maverick, which helped cement him as a modern leading man. He followed with crowd-pleasing romantic comedy success in Anyone but You, while also leaning into darker, character-driven material.
