Jessica Knappett

Jessica Knappett (born 28 November 1984 in Bingley, Yorkshire, England) is a British screen actor and comedy writer known for sharp, character-driven performances across film, TV, and panel entertainment.

She first built momentum on the live circuit, co-founding the all-female comedy group Lady Garden in 2005 and earning attention at the Brighton and Edinburgh Fringe festivals. Knappett broke through to mainstream audiences as Lisa in The Inbetweeners Movie, and soon after appeared in Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa as WPC Ruth.

In 2013, she expanded her profile by creating, writing, and starring in the sitcom Drifters, which ran for four series through 2016 and established her as a distinctive voice in British comedy. Her later credits include Ghosts (as Lucy), Aunty Donna’s Big Ol House of Fun, and Wuthering Heights, alongside frequent appearances as herself on shows such as Hypothetical and David Mitchell’s Outsiders.

Knappett is married to American musician and writer Dan Crane, a world champion professional air guitarist. The couple welcomed their first child, a daughter, in 2017.
