Jon Favreau

Jon Favreau (also credited as John Favreau and Jonathan Kolia Favreau) was born on October 19, 1966, in Queens, New York City. He first broke through as an actor in sharp, character-driven comedies and dramas, building a reputation for grounded, relatable performances.

Audiences widely recognize Favreau for playing Happy Hogan in the Marvel universe, including Iron Man and Iron Man 2, where his warm, straight-talking presence became a key part of Tony Stark’s world. His other notable acting work spans cult favorites and studio hits such as Swingers, Very Bad Things, The Replacements, Something’s Gotta Give, and voice roles like Open Season.

Beyond acting, Favreau has shaped modern blockbuster entertainment as a filmmaker and producer, helping launch the Marvel Cinematic Universe while also directing crowd-pleasers like Elf and later expanding into effects-driven family adventures.
