Jonathan Sayer

Jonathan Sayer (born September 8, 1988, in Ashton-under-Lyne, Greater Manchester) is a British screen and stage artist known for his sharp comic timing and inventive ensemble work. Working across acting and writing, he has become closely associated with modern farce and “everything-that-can-go-wrong” comedy.

Sayer is a co-founder of Mischief Theatre, the company behind the international hit The Play That Goes Wrong and a string of related successes. As a playwright and performer, he has helped shape Mischief’s distinctive style across projects including Peter Pan Goes Wrong, The Comedy About a Bank Robbery, Groan Ups, and Magic Goes Wrong, expanding the troupe’s work from the stage to television and specials.

On screen, he is best known for playing Dennis Tyde in Peter Pan Goes Wrong (also appearing as John Darling and Smee) and in A Christmas Carol Goes Wrong, where he takes on multiple roles including Bob Cratchit. He also appears in The Goes Wrong Show and Mischief Movie Night In, continuing his collaboration with the Mischief ensemble.

With credits that blend performance, character work, and comedic construction, Sayer remains a key creative force in contemporary British comedy.
