Julian Black Antelope

Julian Black Antelope is a Canadian screen artist known for acting and stunt work, with Irish and First Nations heritage. Adopted and raised by a non-Indigenous couple, he grew up near Fort MacLeod, close to the Kainai (Blood) and Piikani Blackfoot Reserves—yet had limited connection to his Indigenous culture early on.

After leaving home at 15, Black Antelope began actively searching for his First Nations roots. Over time, Blackfoot elders helped guide him, shaping both his identity and outlook. He has spoken candidly about his background, describing himself as “half-Irish and half some kind of Indian,” a frank line that reflects a life spent reconciling upbringing with ancestry.

On screen, he has built a steady career across film and television, including roles in Prey (Chief Kehetu), Hiding (Raul Ramirez), Seventh Son (uncredited), and Deaner ’89 (Gatley), alongside credits such as Marauder and Gaku. He also appears in A Legend of Whitey as Lightfoot.

Beyond performing, Black Antelope has worked behind the camera, writing, directing, producing, and editing independent shorts and documentaries, and contributing to the 2019 feature Harpoon. He is also known as Julian Schamp and جولین بلک آنتلوپ.
