Martin Clunes
Martin Clunes (born November 28, 1961, in Wimbledon, South London) is an English screen artist whose career spans acting, directing, and presenting. Emerging from British television in the 1980s, he steadily built a reputation for sharp character work and warm, grounded performances across comedy and drama.
He is widely recognized for leading roles in hit series such as Doc Martin, Men Behaving Badly, and William and Mary, becoming a familiar face to audiences in the UK and beyond. His film work includes a notable turn in Shakespeare in Love as Richard Burbage, while credits like The Acid House and Dirty Tricks highlight his range.
Clunes has also appeared as himself in programs including Farewell Doc Martin and compilations of Have I Got News for You, and he has lent his voice to documentary narration. In recognition of his contributions to drama and charitable causes, he was appointed OBE in 2015.
