Michelle Thrush

Michelle Thrush (born February 6, 1967, in Calgary, Alberta) is a Canadian screen artist and activist recognized for bringing depth and authority to Indigenous stories on television and film. She became widely known for portraying Gail Stonee in the drama series Blackstone, a performance that earned her the 2011 Gemini Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Continuing Leading Dramatic Role.

Before and after that breakthrough, Thrush built a strong profile in Canadian TV with recurring roles such as Sylvia LeBret on North of 60 and Deanna Martin on Arctic Air. Her work often balances emotional realism with a clear point of view, helping make her a familiar presence in character-driven ensemble series.

On the feature side, she appeared in the acclaimed Jimmy P. (Jimmy P: Psychotherapy of a Plains Indian), a film recognized at major international awards. Her credits also include Pathfinder, Ebenezer, Unnatural & Accidental, Prey, and Bones of Crows, showcasing range from period storytelling to contemporary drama.
