Nina Jacobson
Nina Jacobson (born September 15, 1965, in Los Angeles, California) is an American producer and film executive known for shaping modern franchise filmmaking. After rising through the studio system, she became president of the Buena Vista Motion Pictures Group at The Walt Disney Company, a rare position for a woman in Hollywood’s upper ranks during the era.
In 2007, Jacobson launched her own banner, Color Force, positioning herself as a creative partner for filmmakers and authors alike. Her company’s most influential work is the The Hunger Games film series, where she helped translate Suzanne Collins’ novels into a global box-office phenomenon and a defining YA adaptation of its generation.
Jacobson also appears in behind-the-scenes and industry documentaries tied to her productions, including The World Is Watching: Making the Hunger Games, Surviving the Game: Making The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, and Predator or Prey: Making The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, often discussing the craft and logistics of large-scale storytelling. She has additionally been featured in projects like This Changes Everything and Close Up with The Hollywood Reporter, reflecting her ongoing influence on the business and culture of film.
