Oona Chaplin
Oona Chaplin (also credited as Oona Castilla Chaplin) is a Spanish–Swiss screen actress born on June 4, 1986, in Madrid, Spain. Moving between European and English-language productions, she has built a career defined by emotionally grounded performances and a taste for character-driven stories.
She became widely recognized for her television work, notably as Talisa Maegyr in HBO’s Game of Thrones, with further standout roles including Kitty Trevelyan in the BBC drama The Crimson Field and Zilpha Geary in the series Taboo. These parts helped establish her as a versatile presence across period drama and contemporary storytelling alike.
Chaplin also has a notable filmography, with credits ranging from Quantum of Solace to features such as Imago Mortis, Powder Room, Purgatory, Aloft, and What If. Whether in ensemble casts or intimate narratives, she brings a distinctive mix of restraint and intensity.
Born into an iconic artistic lineage, Chaplin is the daughter of actress Geraldine Chaplin and the granddaughter of filmmaker and performer Charlie Chaplin. She is also the great-granddaughter of playwright Eugene O’Neill, and was named after her maternal grandmother Oona O’Neill, Charlie Chaplin’s wife.
