Rami Malek

Rami Malek (also credited as Rami Saíd Malek) is an American screen actor born on May 12, 1981, in Torrance, California. Raised in a family of Coptic Egyptian immigrants, he trained in theater and sharpened his craft on stage before moving into film and television work.

After early visibility on series such as The War at Home and the WWII miniseries The Pacific, Malek became a memorable presence in mainstream cinema as Ahkmenrah in Night at the Museum and Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian. Around the same period, he built a varied supporting résumé with titles like The Master, Larry Crowne, Oldboy, Ain't Them Bodies Saints, and Need for Speed.

His career reached a new level with his lead performance as hacker Elliot Alderson on Mr. Robot, earning major awards attention. Malek then portrayed Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody, winning the Academy Award for Best Actor and making history as the first Best Actor winner of Egyptian heritage.

Since that breakthrough, he has continued to alternate between prestige projects and big-budget thrillers, including the Bond film No Time to Die and the spy feature The Amateur, where he plays Heller.
