Reinaldo Marcus Green

Reinaldo Marcus Green (born December 16, 1981, in New York City) is an American filmmaker best known for directing, with a body of work that blends character-driven storytelling and timely social themes. Working as a director, producer, and writer, Green has steadily built a reputation for grounded, emotionally resonant cinema.

He drew wider attention with Monsters and Men (2018), a drama that examines community, identity, and the ripple effects of a single incident. He followed with Joe Bell (2020), continuing his focus on intimate stories with broader cultural impact.

In 2021, Green directed King Richard, the acclaimed sports biopic that earned a Best Picture nomination at the 94th Academy Awards. More recently, he helmed Bob Marley: One Love (2024), bringing a major music icon’s story to the screen for a new generation.

Alongside his directing credits, Green has appeared on camera in projects like Directors on Directors as himself, and he has an acting credit in Gun Hill Road as Prison Guard 2—small roles that underline his hands-on connection to filmmaking.
