Robbie Brenner

Robbie Brenner is an American film executive and producer whose career spans major studios, independent hits, and brand-driven filmmaking. A partner at The Firm, she also serves as president of its film division, and as President of Mattel Films she oversees the strategy behind developing and producing movies based on Mattel’s iconic brands and IP.

In 2023, Brenner produced Barbie, directed and co-written by Greta Gerwig. The film became a global phenomenon, earning more than $1.4 billion worldwide and breaking multiple box-office records—cementing Brenner’s reputation for pairing bold creative vision with mass appeal.

Earlier, she spent nine years at Miramax, contributing to projects including Serendipity. She produced the crime drama Haven (2004), then moved to Twentieth Century Fox as senior vice president of production. She later worked with Davis Entertainment and produced Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem, while continuing to build a strong independent track record.

As an independent producer, Brenner earned an Academy Award nomination in 2013 for Dallas Buyers Club, which won three Oscars, including acting wins for Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto. She also led production at Relativity, helping guide acquisitions like Sundance’s Catfish and overseeing titles such as The Fighter, Immortals, and Mirror Mirror. An NYU arts alum and an Academy Executive Branch member, she was also recognized on The Hollywood Reporter’s 2012 “Women in Entertainment: Power 100.”
