Rosario Dawson

Rosario Dawson (also credited as Rosario Isabel Dawson) is a New York City–born American screen artist celebrated for her range across indie drama, studio blockbusters, and genre storytelling. Born on May 9, 1979, she broke through early with a striking film debut that quickly positioned her as a fearless, contemporary presence.

Over the years, Dawson has built a filmography defined by versatility—moving from character-driven work like 25th Hour to mainstream hits such as Men in Black II and The Rundown. She’s equally at home in musical drama, earning attention as Mimi Marquez in Rent, and in sharp ensemble comedy as Becky in Clerks II.

Fans of comic-book cinema know Dawson for her iconic turn as Gail in Sin City and Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, part of a broader career that includes prominent superhero and animation voice work. On television, she became a standout in Marvel’s interconnected Netflix series and later gained wider franchise recognition as the live-action Ahsoka Tano in Star Wars.

Beyond acting, Dawson is widely noted for her activism, bringing the same conviction to public causes that she brings to the screen.
