Scott Waugh
Scott Waugh (born January 1, 1970, USA) is an American director and producer who first built his reputation behind the scenes as a stunt performer, bringing hands-on action experience to his filmmaking. He is also credited under the name Scott Blake.
Waugh gained wide recognition co-directing the 2012 military action drama Act of Valor with Mike McCoy, a project noted for its kinetic realism and grounded combat staging. He later stepped into big-studio territory with Need for Speed, translating the popular racing game into a feature built around practical car work and high-speed set pieces.
His transition from stunts to directing was spotlighted when he received a “10 Directors to Watch” honor at the 2012 Palm Springs International Film Festival. Earlier on-screen appearances include small roles in titles such as xXx, Torque, and Bicentennial Man, reflecting his long-running connection to action-driven productions.
