Shazad Latif
Shazad Latif (also credited as 沙扎德拉提夫) is a British screen actor born on July 8, 1988, in London, England. Known for his versatile character work across UK and international productions, Latif has built a reputation for moving comfortably between grounded drama, sharp comedy, and genre storytelling.
He first gained wider attention on British television, notably playing Tariq Masood in the BBC spy series Spooks, and later became a fan favorite as the deadpan Clem H. Fandango in Toast of London. His range expanded further with a dual role as Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde in Penny Dreadful, showcasing his ability to shift tone and intensity within a single performance.
Latif’s global profile rose again when he joined Star Trek: Discovery as Ash Tyler, the ship’s Chief of Security, for CBS All Access (now Paramount+). In 2024, he stepped into another iconic adventure role as Captain Nemo in the live-action series Nautilus.
