Tom Ackerley
Tom Ackerley (also credited as Thomas Francis Michael Ackerley) is an English screen professional best known for his work in production. Born in Surrey, England, he has built a career that spans on-set roles and producing, with an industry profile that has grown steadily through high-impact film and television projects.
Before becoming widely recognized as a producer, Ackerley worked behind the camera as an assistant director and also appeared briefly on screen. His early credits include an uncredited role as a Slytherin student in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, along with appearances as himself in projects such as David Blaine: Beyond Magic and Off Script with The Hollywood Reporter.
Ackerley is a co-founder of LuckyChap Entertainment, the production company he launched with his wife, Margot Robbie. Through LuckyChap, he has helped shepherd a slate of acclaimed titles, including I, Tonya (2017), Promising Young Woman (2020), and the global phenomenon Barbie (2023).
His producing work on Barbie earned him major awards attention, including an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture in 2024—cementing his status as a key creative force in contemporary mainstream and prestige filmmaking.
