Aaron Ryder

Aaron Ryder is an American producer whose career has consistently bridged bold independent filmmaking and prestige studio work. He first drew industry attention as an executive producer on Christopher Nolan’s breakthrough thriller Memento (2000), followed by Richard Kelly’s cult favorite Donnie Darko (2001). He later reunited with Nolan as a producer on The Prestige (2006), further cementing his reputation for filmmaker-driven projects.

Ryder went on to help launch FilmNation Entertainment as a founding member, where he built a diverse slate across genres and audiences. His FilmNation-era credits include Mud (2012), House at the End of the Street (2012), The Founder (2016), Pieces of a Woman (2020), and The Map of Tiny Perfect Things (2021).

In 2016, Ryder produced Denis Villeneuve’s acclaimed science-fiction drama Arrival, earning an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture alongside Shawn Levy, Dan Levine, and David Linde. He has also appeared on-screen in the featurette Xenolinguistics: Understanding 'Arrival' as himself.

Expanding into film and television, Ryder formed Ryder Picture Company in early 2021 with a first-look deal at MGM. Under the new banner, his debut production Bruiser (2022) premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, followed by the next feature Dumb Money, developed as the company’s momentum continues.
