Zoey Deutch

Zoey Deutch (born November 10, 1994, in Los Angeles, California) is an American screen actor known for sharp comedic timing and emotionally grounded performances. Raised in a film family—her father is director Howard Deutch and her mother is actor-director Lea Thompson—she developed an early fluency in storytelling that quickly translated to the screen.

Deutch first broke through on television, appearing on Disney Channel’s The Suite Life on Deck before moving into more dramatic territory with The CW’s Ringer. Her film career accelerated with a supporting turn in Beautiful Creatures (as Emily Asher), followed by a star-making lead in Vampire Academy (as Rose Hathaway), a performance that earned her a Teen Choice Award nomination.

In the years that followed, she built a reputation as a versatile modern lead, drawing notice in Richard Linklater’s Everybody Wants Some!! (as Beverly) and a run of acclaimed indie and studio projects. She also stepped behind the camera as a producer, including on The Year of Spectacular Men, directed by Thompson.
